## About the OKR module
OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) are a goal-setting framework used by organizations to align efforts and measure progress. Objectives are qualitative, aspirational goals that describe what you want to achieve, while Key Results are quantitative metrics that track how you will measure success.
The new **OKR module** in BigPicture lets you create and track your OKRs to drive focus, transparency, and accountability within teams and across your organization.
The module houses all the features and functionalities you need to set and track OKR across individual initiatives and multiple portfolios:
- A holistic view of your company's Objectives, sub-objectives, and Key Results in a tree-like structure with customizable column layouts.
- OKR type-level hierarchical tree-like view showing progress on specific Objectives and their respective Key Results.
- Dashboard with statistics to help you assess your team's progress in achieving their OKRs.
- Custom OKR types and labels.
- Automated and manual OKR progress tracking. OKRS can also be visualized and tracked in the Gantt module.
## Access the OKR module
This module is available in all [box types](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/297538577). The OKR module requires:
- BigPicture Enterprise (Jira Cloud)
- [OKR for Jira](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221776/okr-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) (Jira Cloud)
No additional configuration or integration setup between these two apps is required.
Use the **module switcher** at the top and select the **OKR** from the dropdown to access the OKR module.
## Main features
The table presents the main features of the OKR module.

| Create OKR | Add a new Objective. The following objective fields (attributes) are mandatory:
- name,
- period,
- expected start,
- expected end. |  |
| Clone OKR | Clone the selected OKR.
OKR cloning is helpful when you need to move the same OKR to a new quarter or add a similar OKR.
A cloned KR requires a parent Objective. |  |
| Add Sub-Objective | Add a sub-objective to the existing objective. |  |
| Add Key Result | Add a Key Result to the Objective. |  |
| OKR Overview | Get a clear view of your company's Objectives and Key Results, showing how smaller goals support the bigger ones. |  |
| OKR Overview Column layout | Customize the column layout in the OKR Overview board by adding and removing selected columns from your view and then saving your view. |  |
| Share view | Generate a URL you can share with other stakeholders so they can see what you see in the OKR Overview. |  |
| OKR Overview column filters | Filter OKRs in the OKR Overview using different periods and column parameters. |  |
| OKR Details side panel | Carry out multiple actions in the OKR Overview:
- View OKR details, progress, and updates.
- Add new updates or comments on existing ones.
- Add new sub-objectives and KRs for selected Objectives.
- Create new or link existing Jira issues to Key Results. |  |
| Tree view | See all the Objectives, Key results, and sub-objectives you have created in a single session, making it easy to add and arrange multiple OKRs. The OKR info panel on the right displays the details you have entered during the OKR creation process. |  |
| Export/ Import | Import and export your OKRs using a CSV file. |  |
| OKR Hierarchy | The OKR Hierarchy view is like a family tree displaying goals for all OKR types. |  |
| Progress Dashboard | Get a complete view of your team’s progress, highlighting recent successes and identifying OKRs that need attention due to being off track or at risk. |  |
| Jira Dashboard OKR Gadgets | Display key OKR details and other project metrics and statistics directly on your Jira dashboard. |  |
| JQL | Use Jira Query Language (JQL) in Jira filters to search for issues connected to a specific Key Result or all KRs associated with an Objective. |  |
## Display OKRs on the Gantt task tree
You can leverage BigPicture’s [Gantt module](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/297766176) to visualize and track the progress of your OKRs based on the issues linked to them.
The dedicated **Objectives** and **Key Results** [Gant columns](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/298060439), along with various column aggregation methods, task grouping, and [task progress](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/298289426) on taskbars, will help you monitor all your OKRs under a single box or entire portfolio(s).

## OKRs as structure builders
If you have issues linked to your OKRs, you can use them as [structure builders](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/297505404) for your tasks.
To enable OKR-based structure:
1. Open the **box configuration** > **Tasks** > **Task structure** page.
2. On the **Task structure page**, select the **Objective & Key Result **structure** **builder template.
