# Create new risk calculation (old navigation)

To create a new risk calculation:

1. From the** Risk management** module, click the risk register name.
2. Click the **Settings** button.
3. Click **+ Create new risk calculation**.
4. Complete the **Risk framework name**.
5. Add metric items and values. Select colors and assign a value for each value name. To confirm, click **Create**.
6. Once metric items are added, you can define the risk score formula.
7. Start typing the metric name.
8. Use simple math operators such as` * / - + ( )` and numbers.
9. You can also switch to the advanced edit mode. Remember that metrics must be wrapped in the braces (curly brackets). For example, `{{Impact}}`.
10. When metric items and values are added, an empty risk matrix appears below. Add them first on the right side to complete it with risk levels.
11. Click **+ Add risk level** to add one. Provide a name, color, and icon. When ready, click **Create**.
12. When all risk levels are added, you can assign them to the risk matrix.
13. When ready, click **Save changes** at the top.
14. The risk calculation template is added and visible in the risk register’s table once saved.

3. Click **+ Create new risk calculation**.
4. Complete the **Risk framework name**.
5. Add metric items and values.
