BigPicture offers several ways to create tasks, giving you flexibility based on your needs and workflow. You can choose the following options:

- **Import from a file** - import your task templates from tools like MS Project, MS Excel, CSV, or OpenDocument files. The option is available in Gantt and Scope modules.
- **Create tasks** - create Jira issues and [basic tasks](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918405930) directly in the Gantt, Scope, or Board's backlog.
- **Clone existing scope** - use your existing boxes as templates and clone the scope to a different box.
- **Task templates** - [predefined templates](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918503892) of basic tasks that you can use to create simple schedules to arrange your data into phases and stages or represent external providers' tasks.
