The OKR details side panel displays basic info about the selected OKR (Strategic Theme, Objective, or Key Result). With the OKR details side panel, you can:
- View OKR details, progress, comments, and updates.
- Add new updates or comment on existing ones.
- Create new OKRs for the selected parent items.
- Create or [link Jira work items to Key Results](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918507296).
- [Link boxes to Key Results](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/2229665803).
## Access and security
> 📝 For the OKR details side panel to appear, you must enable it in the **View** settings.
Anyone with [basic permission](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918765815) to view OKRs can view OKR details in the OKR details side panel.
To open the side panel, click the OKR in the column view. The panel for the selected OKR will appear on the right side of the screen.
## Actions on the OKR side panel
### View OKR progress and updates
The side panel’s main body displays the Objective or Key Result details, including its key, name, progress, updates, and comments on the updates.
The data displayed in the side panel cannot be edited inline, but you can [comment on the OKR update](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918670327) directly in the panel.
Mouse over the dot along the X-axis of the chart in the **Progress** section to see the date and details on the KR update. The top of the Y-axis shows the OKR due date.
### Update an OKR
Click the **Update** button at the top of the side panel to [update the OKR](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPM/pages/1918637972).
### Access the menu for more actions
The additional menu (…) next to the **Update** button lets you perform several different actions. The options available in the menu differ for Objectives and Key Results.

> 📝 You can access a similar set of options by clicking **More actions** (**…**) next to the selected OKR. Thanks to this, you can still perform the actions listed on the Objective/Key Result context menu, even if the OKR details side panel is disabled.
