## Summary

When using JXL - Sheets Hierarchy Structure, users may find that Digital Rose eSign fields (such as `digitalRoseESignSignatureFinalized`) aren't available in the formula editor or don't resolve correctly. This occurs when the eSign app fields aren't registered in Jira, preventing JXL from accessing the necessary data.

## Use case

A user attempts to use an eSign field in a JXL formula (for example, to calculate the duration between issue creation and signature finalization) but receives an error stating the property does not exist, even when using the correct syntax.

## Symptom

The formula editor returns an error similar to:
`Property 'digitalRoseESignSignatureFinalized' does not exist on type 'ThisWorkItem'`

## Cause

This issue is caused by the eSign app fields not being registered in the Jira site's field configuration. If the fields don't exist at the Jira platform level, JXL can't "see" or reference them in its formula engine, regardless of the syntax used.

## Troubleshooting steps

### Verify field registration

To confirm if the fields are available to Jira:

1. In your browser, navigate to: `https://<your-site-url>/rest/api/3/field` (replace `<your-site-url>` with your actual Jira instance URL).
2. Search the resulting text for `eSign` or `digitalRose`.
3. If these fields are missing from the JSON response, they aren't registered in your Jira instance.

## Solution

If the eSign fields are missing from the registration list, they must be manually triggered or created within the eSign app settings.

1. Follow the official eSign troubleshooting guide to ensure signature search fields are created: [https://support.esign-app.com/jsign/faq/signature-search-fields-don-t-exist](https://support.esign-app.com/jsign/faq/signature-search-fields-don-t-exist).
2. Once the fields are successfully created in Jira, they'll become available in JXL.
3. You can then use the fields in your JXL formulas as shown in the example below.

### Example formula

Once the fields are registered, a formula like the following will work:

```
DATEDIF(this.createdDate, this.digitalRoseESignSignatureFinalized, "D")
```
