## Overview
When you receive an Appfire Data Center trial license extension key from Support, you must install it from your Appfire app's **License Management** page.
Do **not** install the license key in the Atlassian license section of the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM). Appfire trial extension keys are applied through the **app-specific** License Management page.
> ⚠️ If you install the key in the Atlassian license area, the license won't be applied to your Appfire app.

## Licensing differences
The **Manage apps** page contains two different licensing areas:
- Atlassian app licensing (not used for Appfire trial extension keys)
- Appfire License Management (used for Appfire trial extension keys)
## Before you begin
Make sure that:
- You have received a Data Center trial license extension key from Appfire Support. Refer to the [Atlassian Data Center Trial licensing and extensions](https://support.appfire.com/space/SUPPORT/3008724997/Atlassian+Data+Center+Trial+licensing+and+extensions) page for more information about Data Center trial licenses.
- You can log in as an Atlassian Product Administrator.
- You do not need **System Administrator** permissions to update your Appfire trial license.
## Apply the license extension key
1. Log in to Jira, Confluence, or Bitbucket as an Atlassian Product Administrator.
2. Go to **Settings** > **Manage apps**.
3. In the left-hand pane, click **License Management** or **Appfire License Management** for the applicable Appfire product. The example below uses Jira Miscellaneous Workflow Extensions.
4. In the **Update License Key** section, paste the license key provided by Support into the **New Appfire license key** field and click **Update**. The new trial extension license is applied immediately.
> ℹ️ Certain Appfire products, including Power Scripts for Jira, which is a part of the Power Plugins family of apps, have slightly different licensing steps. For Power Scripts, licensing is found under **Power Apps Config** > **Licenses**. Here, there’s a **License Management** link for each Power Plugins app.
## Verify the license update
After you select **Update**, the License Management page displays the updated license information and expiration date.
If the license information doesn't update, verify that:
- The license key was copied completely.
- The license key was entered in the Appfire **License Management** section.
- The license key was provided for the correct Appfire app.
## Troubleshooting
### I can't find the License Key field
Make sure you have expanded your Appfire app and are looking at the **License Management** page.
Note that each Appfire app has its own **License Management** page.
### The license key is rejected
Confirm that:
- You pasted the complete license key.
- The key was issued for the correct app. Each Appfire app has its own **License Management** page. Be sure you are pasting the license key for the correct app.
- The key has not expired.
If the problem continues, contact Support and provide the ticket number associated with the license extension request.
