This article addresses an issue where clicking "Create New Task" or "Create New Subtask" in BigPicture (Cloud) does nothing. This behavior typically occurs when the application is accessed via a saved bookmark or a direct link, which may not reflect the current state of the application in the new UI. The article provides a workaround to restore functionality by navigating through the standard Jira menu.

## Problem

When attempting to add a Jira issue line item to the schedule (e.g., using the "Create New Task" or "Create New Subtask" options), the application does not respond, and no creation dialog appears.

## Cause

The issue is often related to how the application is accessed. Using saved bookmarks or forwarded links can sometimes lead to a state where certain UI actions (like task creation) fail to trigger correctly, especially after application updates or UI changes.

## Solution / Workaround

To resolve this issue and restore the ability to create Jira issues within BigPicture, follow these steps:

1. **Avoid Bookmarks:** Do not use a saved bookmark or a direct URL to access a specific Box or module.
2. **Access via Apps Menu:** In Jira, click on the **Apps** menu in the top navigation bar.
3. **Select BigPicture:** Choose **BigPicture** from the list of applications.
4. **Manual Navigation:** Navigate manually to the **Overview** module.
5. **Open the Box:** Select the relevant Box where you need to create the task.
6. **Retry Creation:** Attempt to use the "Create New Task" or "Create New Subtask" functionality again.

### Additional Troubleshooting

If the manual navigation does not resolve the issue:

- **Clear Browser Cookies:** Some users have reported that clearing browser cookies and cache resolved the unresponsive behavior.
- **Check for Pop-up Blockers:** Ensure that your browser is not blocking pop-ups from your Jira instance, as the creation dialog may be treated as a pop-up.
