It covers the scenario where timeboxes become read-only in BigPicture and provides a workaround to force a resynchronization. ## Problem/Context When a BigPicture Box is configured with **Automatic sprint-based timeboxes**, the app treats the sprint dates as being managed exclusively by Jira. Consequently, these timeboxes become read-only within BigPicture. Users may encounter a situation where the dates displayed in BigPicture are different from those in Jira. If a user attempts to manually correct the dates in BigPicture, they will receive the following validation error: > **Validation Error:** Cannot update box [Box-ID] when Automatic sprint-based timeboxes option has been enabled. You can edit sprints in Jira or change timeboxes settings in the box configuration. ## Cause This mismatch typically occurs when the synchronization between Jira and BigPicture fails to trigger or complete after a change is made to the sprint dates in Jira. Since the "Automatic" setting locks the fields in BigPicture, the UI prevents manual overrides. ## Solution/Workaround: Force Resynchronization via Jira To resolve the date mismatch and force BigPicture to update its records, follow these steps: 1. **Navigate to Jira:** Go to the Jira board where the affected sprint is located. 2. **Edit the Sprint:** Open the sprint details and make a minor change to the sprint dates (e.g., change the end date by one day and then change it back, or simply re-save the existing dates). 3. **Save Changes:** Saving the sprint in Jira triggers a synchronization event. 4. **Verify in BigPicture:** Return to BigPicture and refresh the page.
