Use this guide to determine whether **JSU Automation Suite for Jira Workflows** is actively used in your Jira Cloud site. This is especially useful before a subscription change, cleanup effort, migration, or app review.

> ℹ️ This article focuses on practical verification steps for Jira Cloud administrators. It complements the existing feature documentation for [My Workflows](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JSUCLOUD/pages/12519535) and [Execution Log](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JSUCLOUD/pages/138149902).

# What to check

To confirm whether JSU is in use, review three areas:

- Whether JSU workflow rules are configured
- Whether those rules have executed recently
- Whether administrators still need the app for existing projects or workflows

# Step 1: Review configured JSU rules

Open **My Workflows** to see where JSU has been enabled across your Jira Cloud instance.

Use this view to identify:

- The projects that use JSU
- The workflows and transitions that contain JSU rules
- The overall footprint of JSU configuration in your site

> 📝 If My Workflows shows saved JSU rules, the app has been configured in the site. This confirms setup exists, but it does not by itself prove recent activity.

# Step 2: Check whether rules have run recently

Open the **Execution Log** to verify recent JSU rule activity.

The Execution Log helps you confirm:

- Whether rules are currently being triggered
- Which rules are running
- When they last executed
- Whether executions completed successfully or produced errors

> ⚠️ The Execution Log retains records for up to **90 days**. If no entries appear, that can mean either the app has not been used recently or that activity occurred earlier than the log retention window.

# Step 3: Validate business relevance

After reviewing configuration and execution history, confirm whether the existing rules are still needed.

Consider questions such as:

- Are the projects shown in My Workflows still active?
- Are the workflows still assigned to current teams?
- Do project admins or Jira admins still rely on the automation?
- Would removing JSU affect issue transitions, field updates, notifications, approvals, or linked issue actions?

If needed, coordinate with **[Assign Owner]** or the relevant project administrators before making subscription or uninstall decisions.

# How to interpret the results

| Finding | What it means | Recommended next step |
| --- | --- | --- |
| My Workflows shows rules and Execution Log shows recent activity | JSU is actively in use | Do not disable or uninstall until impact has been reviewed |
| My Workflows shows rules but Execution Log has no recent entries | JSU is configured, but recent usage is unclear | Check whether activity may fall outside the 90-day log window and confirm with admins |
| No rules appear in My Workflows | There may be no active JSU configuration in the site | Perform a final admin review before concluding the app is unused |

# Recommended verification checklist

- [ ] Open My Workflows and review configured rules
- [ ] Open Execution Log and check the most recent executions
- [ ] Confirm whether logged activity falls within the 90-day retention window
- [ ] Identify affected projects and workflows
- [ ] Confirm business need with Jira or project administrators
- [ ] Document the impact before disabling, canceling, or uninstalling the app
