When synchronizing a large volume of work items (e.g., over 20,000 items for a single day), the initial sync may fail or time out if the range is too broad.

## Problem

Attempting to sync a high volume of items in a single pass can exceed performance limits or lead to incomplete results.

## Solution

Use smaller, incremental date ranges in the initial sync dialog to migrate the data in batches.

1. Ensure the WIQL filter is focused on the specific work item types (e.g., `Test Step`).
2. In the Initial Sync dialog, select a narrow date range (e.g., a single day or a few hours if volume is extremely high).
3. Run the initial sync.
4. Repeat the process for the next date range until all historical data is migrated.
5. Once the initial migration is complete, enable the sync profile for ongoing, periodic synchronizations.

The data migrates in manageable batches, preventing timeouts.
