## Summary

This article addresses an issue where the **Reports and Timesheets for Jira** Timesheet view fails to display tasks for certain users, even when a valid JQL filter is applied. This behavior is typically caused by specific user-level settings that hide issues without logged time, regardless of whether they match the JQL criteria.

## Symptoms

- The Timesheet view appears empty or missing expected tasks for some users.
- The same JQL query returns the correct results when run in Jira's native **Issue Navigator**.
- There are no differences in Jira project permissions or roles between affected and unaffected users.
- Tasks only appear in the Timesheet view after time has been manually logged against them.
- Using `ORDER BY Rank ASC` in the JQL may cause the view to load indefinitely.

## Cause

The primary cause is the **"Do not show issues with past time"** setting (or similar "hide empty" configurations) within the user's Timesheet view settings.

When this setting is enabled, the app hides any issue that has no time logged within the currently selected date range. Issues added via a JQL filter are subject to this rule unless they meet one of the following exceptions:

1. The issue was manually added to the timesheet by the user.
2. The issue was configured by an administrator to always appear (e.g., via "Always show" settings).

If a task matches the JQL but has no worklogs for the selected period, it will remain hidden if this setting is active.

## Resolution

To ensure all issues matching your JQL are visible, users should verify and adjust their view settings:

1. Open the **Timesheet** view in Reports and Timesheets for Jira.
2. Locate the **Page Settings** or **View Options** (often represented by a gear icon or a "Settings" dropdown within the report interface).

4. Look for the setting labeled **"Do not show issues with past time"** or **"Hide issues without time"**.
5. **Disable/Uncheck** this option.
6. Refresh the view. The issues matching your JQL should now appear, even if they have no time logged for the current period.
