This article explains how to restrict the ability to create, edit, or delete baselines in BigPicture to specific users. By default, both Box Admins and Box Editors can manage baselines. This guide covers how to limit these permissions to Box Admins only, ensuring other users have read-only access.

## Use Case

A project manager wants to ensure that only a designated group of users (e.g., Box Admins) can modify baseline records, while all other users (e.g., Box Editors and Viewers) can only view them.

## Solution

BigPicture controls baseline permissions through **Box security roles**, which are configured individually for each Box.

To restrict baseline management to Box Admins:

1. Open the desired **Box**.
2. Navigate to **Box Configuration** (wrench icon).
3. Go to **Tasks** > **Baselines**.
4. Under the **Permissions** section, locate the dropdown menu for "Decide who can create, delete and save baselines."
5. Select **Box Admin** from the dropdown list.

### Outcome

- **Box Admins:** Can create, edit, and delete baselines.
- **Box Editors:** Will have read-only access to baselines (they can view them but cannot modify them).
- **Box Viewers:** Will continue to have read-only access.
