This article explains how to use Run CLI for Jira action in a workflow validator.

## Instructions

1. <span style="color: #333333">Log into the Jira instance as an Administrator.</span>
2. Edit the workflow where Run CLI is to be added as a validator.
3. Select the transition to which the CLI validator needs to be added and then click the link *Validators*.
4. Click **Add validator** and select **CLI action** from the list of validation options.
5. Add the CLI action as per the requirement and save the settings. As an example, add a comment to an issue using the Run CLI action if the custom field was set to **A**.
6. Once the transition is performed, you can see the result as per the condition added for validation.
