# Important release changes

- **Jira Cloud API deprecation notice **
Atlassian has issued a deprecation notice regarding changes to the Jira Cloud API that impact comment retrieval. For further details, please refer to the official [Atlassian deprecation notice](https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/changelog/#CHANGE-1796).
- **Affected users**
This deprecation notice affects customers who host TFS4JIRA on-premises for Jira Cloud, specifically for Jira issues containing more than 100 comments.
- **Impact and timeline**
Effective November 22, 2024, the current Jira Cloud API for comment retrieval will be officially deprecated. After this date, only 100 comments on any Jira issue will synchronize unless you upgrade to the latest TFS4JIRA Synchronizer version that supports the new, paginated API. Comments beyond this limit will not synchronize.
- **Solution**
To ensure continued access to comments, please upgrade to TFS4JIRA Synchronizer version 11.1.0 or above, which supports paginated comment retrieval.
  - **Upgrade timing:** You can install the latest TFS4JIRA Synchronizer version before or after November 22, 2024.
  - **Data integrity:** No comments will be lost, regardless of whether you complete the upgrade before or after the deprecation date. Once the latest version is installed, comments will be retrieved as expected.
